Why I love Mondays

I am finally looking forward to Mondays again!

While Brian watches football in his man cave, you will find me upstairs, happily tuning in to one of my favorite shows, Dancing with the Stars.

The ninth season kicked off last week and I think they've got a great line-up this time around. Donny Osmond, Melissa Joan Hart (anyone remember Clarissa on Nickelodeon?), an Olympic swimmer and the host of Iron Chef America (the Asian guy who does karate and flips all over the place at the beginning of the show) are just a few of the interesting personalities who are currently competing for the coveted mirrorball trophy.

I've got my eye on a couple of gals in particular. Kathy Ireland is the first. Although she may not be the best dancer, I think she's a wonderful woman. She has used her position and status for God's glory, and I really respect that. Check out this article I read about her a few months ago.

I was also pretty impressed with Kelly Osbourne, former rocker chick and daughter to the infamous Ozzy. Although for many years she earned herself quite a bit of a bad girl reputation, it looks like she's really cleaned up her act! She couldn't have been more elegant or ladylike on the dance floor, and it left both of her parents in happy tears.

Doesn't that video just make you want to be twirled around and around? My sweet husband has done everything he can to make my ballroom dancing dreams come true - last Christmas he bought me the Dancing with the Stars game for our Wii AND he got us 3 private dance lessons for our anniversary! Maybe someday he'll even go with me to a taping of the show. :) Until then, I plan to live vicariously through Ms. Osbourne.

I told Jonathan that I liked watching Michael Irving dance. That he entertained me. Jonathan then informed me that he had been a crack addict. It was an unexpected spiritual moment - do I stop liking Michael Irving because of his past??? God would say no. So I do too. He's not a great dancer but he's fun to watch. I only got to see the fighter guy dance last night and he was super-entertaining too. (Nickelodeon kind of takes precedence in our household but I'm going to DVR the remainder of the Dancing season.) Wow, should have emailed you instead of the novel of a comment. Wish I was close so we could watch the season together!
