The latest odd couple

Brian has ALWAYS wanted a monkey for a pet.... and after seeing this video, I'm about to go get one.

I think God's creatures are simply amazing. They have the capacity for so much more than we realize!

Why I love Mondays

I am finally looking forward to Mondays again!

While Brian watches football in his man cave, you will find me upstairs, happily tuning in to one of my favorite shows, Dancing with the Stars.

The ninth season kicked off last week and I think they've got a great line-up this time around. Donny Osmond, Melissa Joan Hart (anyone remember Clarissa on Nickelodeon?), an Olympic swimmer and the host of Iron Chef America (the Asian guy who does karate and flips all over the place at the beginning of the show) are just a few of the interesting personalities who are currently competing for the coveted mirrorball trophy.

I've got my eye on a couple of gals in particular. Kathy Ireland is the first. Although she may not be the best dancer, I think she's a wonderful woman. She has used her position and status for God's glory, and I really respect that. Check out this article I read about her a few months ago.

I was also pretty impressed with Kelly Osbourne, former rocker chick and daughter to the infamous Ozzy. Although for many years she earned herself quite a bit of a bad girl reputation, it looks like she's really cleaned up her act! She couldn't have been more elegant or ladylike on the dance floor, and it left both of her parents in happy tears.

Doesn't that video just make you want to be twirled around and around? My sweet husband has done everything he can to make my ballroom dancing dreams come true - last Christmas he bought me the Dancing with the Stars game for our Wii AND he got us 3 private dance lessons for our anniversary! Maybe someday he'll even go with me to a taping of the show. :) Until then, I plan to live vicariously through Ms. Osbourne.

Twitterpated

I couldn't hold out any longer.

I just joined twitter.

I've been on facebook for a while now, and I love it. But when twitter started gaining popularity, I put my foot down. It's just one more thing to keep up with, right? I hardly have time to keep up with my life as it is!

Brian joined a couple of months ago with two of his friends from school. They "tweet" only about what they are eating, and they think it's pretty funny. :)

I finally had to join to stay up to date with what's happening to Maryam and Marzieh (see my last post). Plus, my bro uses it all the time so it helps me stay more current with him.

I'm emcsmith, if anyone out there wants to follow me. I will warn you that I'm not very exciting - I've only tweeted a couple of times and I don't plan on becoming much more active. But I'd love to follow you!

1,000 points to the person who can name the movie I stole my title from! And 1,000 more points if you can tell me what the word means in that movie!

Help us free themm

Wow. It's been a long time since my last post!

Part of the reason for that is because I have been writing for another blog. After I write there, I don't have the creative energy to write here. :)

I encourage you to take a few minutes to check it out at www.freethemm.com.

The freethemm team would be so grateful if you would help us spread Maryam and Marzieh's story. We have been told by high-ranking Iranian officials that the more attention this story gets, the better. The more publicized it is, the more pressure the Iranian government will feel, and soon they will have no choice but to let these women go.

Please join us in prayer for the health and release of these faithful sisters in Christ!
